Review – Boyle Arts Festival
Boyle Arts Festival lunchtime recital with Daren Lane on 25th July 2026. This was kindly written by long time festival-goer Marie Hanmore. “Today at King House was an unmissable occasion, bringing the curtain down on Boyle Arts classical concerts for 2026. The partnership of Daren Lane and Helen Hancock revealed two gifted artists at the height of musical sensitivity.
Daren’s performance of Mozart’s Sonata in C major was a revelation of elegance, clarity, and timeless beauty. With confident restraint, he served Mozart, letting the music speak with freshness and grace.
Helen sang with equal integrity, combining confidence and humility as she served the composers. She became a clear medium for the voices of Clara Schumann and Amy Beach, whose music and poetry emerged with emotional truth.
